The absolute very best of the 1920s, this incredible chartreuse yellow silk chiffon gown is an absolute work of art, resplendent with hand applied prong set diamanté stones throughout, arranged into Art Deco floral motifs and shapes. This gown was likely made for a young ingenue in the 1920s, dressing at the cutting edge of fashion with a risqué low cut back and strappy detailing. A "necklace" is built into the dress, with a strap of rhinestones connected at the neckline that is worn wrapped around the neck and snaps into place at the center front. Truly remarkable in every sense of the word, beyond being an absolute feast for the eyes, this gown is incredibly well made. Snap closures have been carefully hidden along the edge of the "braid" motif at the center back allowing for easy on and off, a relief with a dress of this caliber. These closures are completely invisible when worn, a testament to the skill of the dress maker. This gown is everything one could possibly want in a flapper gown, and so, so much more. I will never see another.

Excellent condition. When found, the dress has a few very small original antique lipstick stains that refused to lift. They have been covered with original 1920s sew on diamantés (montees) at 4 tiny spots on the bodice and 2 at the side. It blends in beautifully!! Otherwise, the silk is in remarkable condition with just a few very minor scattered marks, extremely supple with no signs of rot or dryness. There are a few very small wear spots on one of the shoulder appliqués, but it is nearly impossible to see and purely cosmetic. The areas has been treated to prevent it worsening. Two tiny (2mm) invisible repairs at one underarm. Strong and wearable, and presents as mint condition.
