1880s French Black + Pink Flossed Corset [xs/sm]
£813.00
Incredibly rare example of a late Victorian corset circa 1880s. This is truly what corset dreams are made of: expertly crafted in France in beautiful contrasting black and pale pink color for a dramatic and sultry effect. Every possible detail has been utilized, from the careful quilting at the bust, embroidery eyelet trim along the top edge, and of course the exquisite flossing throughout. Remarkably still has its original matching laces, with all eyelets and busk closures presents and fully functional. Stamped inside "Forme Droite Recommendée", or Recommended Straight (right) Shape in French. A must have for the serious collector!
Remarkable condition. There are one or two tiny tears along the top eyelet edge that are only visible upon very close inspection, and the silk ribbon that would have originally woven in and out of the eyelet is missing (could easily be replaced if desired). One spot of flossing at the side waist is missing a few stitches. Otherwise just some very subtle surface wear and some minor discoloration around the lacing eyelets on the interior only. Absolutely incredible museum quality condition, very strong and wearable with care.
