Fantastic 1940s novelty box purse with a fantastic red rayon tufted lining. This lovely piece is reminiscent of antique French jewelry caskets, which were made with similarly tufted interiors and glass paneling. This purse interpretation is made with a lucite (early plastic) top instead of glass, which is frankly much more practical. The exterior is a beautifully floral embossed metal with a matching snake chain handle. A marvelous, unique accessory, or even display item!

Overall excellent condition with light wear throughout, some tarnishing to the metal, some light marks to the fabric interior. Presents beautifully!
