A unique late 1930s to early 1940s summer day dress made from an incredible high quality soft linen, carefully embroidered by hand with rainbow colored cotton threads in wonderful organic and botanical motifs. These embroidery patterns are particularly special and while reminiscent of early 20th century craftsman designs, have a distinctly deco inspiration that sets them apart. The silhouette of the dress is also unique with a faux wrap bodice (the dress closes at one side with hidden snaps) puffed sleeves and hand braided trims. A matching attached braided belt at the back closes with a spiral snap closure. Absolutely beautifully constructed, it was likely made by hand by a very experienced seam dress, perhaps even custom made.

Beautiful condition, appears to have never been worn. There are a few extremely minor storage marks that do not show when worn- the dress is freshly washed and ready to wear.
