Remarkable 1930s petal pink robe made from miles of exquisitely gathered silk chiffon and articulated with hours upon hours of floral hand embroidery work. This robe is of the highest quality, sewn completely by hand, including the seams! Beautifully styled with hand made silk knot buttons down the front, a tight cuff for an exaggerated balloon sleeve, and a wide cut neckline with a slight shoulder pad for a tailored look. The waistline is gathered into a belt at the back of the robe, but the front has been left open to be tied down to size, allowing for a huge amount of size flexibility. A stunning example of deco era loungewear- labeled "Jean Lindsay Shanghai, Made in China".

Excellent condition. A few scattered pinholes and light marks on the back of the skirt that get totally lost in the drape. Presents as mint.
