Remarkable early 20th century white cotton blouse or light jacket, beautifully articulated with miles of handmade lace. The body is made from the softest cotton that is light as a cloud. The voluminous collar and sleeves are made with tiers of valenciennes insertion lace, one of the most beautiful and famous types of bobbin lace, very popular in the period. This piece is so versatile, wearing beautifully belted or loose, as a blouse or a jacket, layered or on its own. Styling possibilities abound for this incredible museum quality piece.
