Victorian Sterling Engraved Locket Necklace
$717.00
Stunning Victorian sterling silver locket, likely handmade in the 1870s-1890s. This piece is incredible twofold: the locket is incredibly articulated with floral repoussé and etching, but the chain itself is a work of art in and of its own. A unique chunky chain link style, sterling balls have been attached around the edge to create a "fringe" effect. The center jump ring is not only cosmetic, but functions as the hidden clasp to the entire ensemble, with a small hinge built directly into the circle. This makes it very easy to get the necklace on and off, as well as allowing the separation of the locket and chain however you so choose. Wear the chain on its own, or with your own charms! Wear the locket on a velvet ribbon! The sky is the limit. A remarkable artifact!
Excellent condition. Minor expected wear, including minor dent and scratches on the back the locket. Presents beautifully.
