This special piece is part of a very special collection of vintage lingerie recently acquired from the estate of a wealthy socialite in the Upper East Side in Manhattan. These pieces were somewhat of an enigma when found, as they exhibit incredible couture construction usually only seen in lingerie from the 1920s and 30s, but many of them contained labels reading "Ars Rosa" that appeared to be of a much more recent make. After quite a bit of research and further inspection, I have concluded that these pieces were made in the 1990s; however, these garments are completely hand sewn, made entirely from silk and highest quality lace, hand finished, and perhaps even more fantastic than some of the best true antique lingerie I have ever seen. There is little history to be found about "Ars Rosa" but it appears to have been a couture lingerie house in Milan, Italy, founded in 1952, that created custom garments for fashionable, wealthy women. In many ways, these pieces are even better than their antique counterparts: they exhibit the incredible craftsmanship found in old world pieces, but with styling updated for modern wear, and no fear of delicacy due to age. This Ars Rosa garment will quickly become your new favorite to don as daywear, evening-wear, or luxury loungewear.
