Demetra's Trained Silk + Lace Bow Appliqué Gown [xs/sm]

An absolutely exquisite 1930s custom couture silk satin gown, entirely sewn by hand, that has been painstakingly restored by Demetra. When found, there were many tears to the lace, small holes, wear spots and staining throughout. After being carefully cleaned by hand, the gown was transformed in our studio with 45+ hours of hand sewing and countless lace appliqués using authentic 1930s lingerie laces from our extensive materials library. The result is an exquisite cascade of delicate lace florals through the bodice, skirt and train, supremely romantic with a touch of whimsey. The gown itself is made from a heavy weight crepe back silk satin with a gorgeous sheen that catches the light beautifully. It is cut on the bias for a perfect curve hugging fit every time, with a elegant, manageable train that pools at the back. Layers of delicate laces frame the neckline and plunging v back. Finally, the exquisite design is completed with silk appliqués at the bodice resembling a trompe l'oeil bow. All in all, this gown is easily one of the most beautiful negligée gowns from the early 20th century to ever pass through our hands and would make for an unforgettable bridal ensemble. 

This one of a kind garment is a Demetra Revival restoration: a rare but wounded treasure given new life in the Demetra studio using professional tailoring skills, heirloom techniques, and historically accurate materials. It bears a Demetra label, carefully sewn into the interior. This garment is now in excellent to pristine condition, with little to no evidence of wear.
