1930s Boué Soeurs Ivory Silk Satin Gown [sm/med]
$1,914.00
A super rare example of early French couture by none other than the Boué Soeurs, one of the most influential design houses of the 1920s and 30s known for their incredible attention to detail and surface design. This gown is a perfect example featuring gorgeous lace and hand embroidery through the front and back of the bodice and the hem. The silk used to make this piece is of unmatched quality- a thick, sumptuous silk satin that glides effortlessly over the skin and is incredibly soft to the touch. Unlike some early silks, this satin is completely opaque and does not require a slip to be worn beneath. An incredible piece of history that would make a perfect spring wedding gown.
Overall excellent condition. There are a handful of small scattered expert repairs to the lace that are nearly imperceptible. Presents as mint. Original label is sewn into the side seam of the bodice.
