Remarkable 1970s red silk dress by Philippe Venet, most famous for being Hubert de Givenchy's romantic life partner, but an incredibly talented couturier in his own right. This piece incredibly beautifully constructed with an interior silk layer that closes with a metal zipper at the front, which is covered by the exterior chiffon layer and closes with buttons. Beautiful draping full skirt, and incredibly full accordion sleeves. The inside of this beautiful dress attests to the quality of the garment, with hand stitching throughout and a grosgrain waist tape. An absolutely remarkable example.

Pristine condition.
