1930s Ivory Pintucked Silk and French Lace Gown [xs/sm]
$1,686.00
Utterly magnificent 1930s ivory silk gown with the most exquisitely detailed bodice. Made to couture level craftsmanship standards, the gown is entirely hand sewn, even down to the seams. Uniquely styled with a super full skirt, super low cut back and a lace back closure, this gown was very likely custom made. Beautiful French lace throughout the bodice and around the shoulder for a cap sleeve flounce that continues around the low back. The waistline has more hand applied lace with transparency effects, and miles of careful pin-tucks. The fabric is opaque, unlike some lighter silks of this time period, making it a perfect option for evening wear or an exquisite bridal ensemble.
Excellent restored condition. There are a smattering of small subtle repairs, some period and some done professionally in house, all of which get entirely lost in the busy lace pattern when worn. Two small spots were repaired with period correct matching lace. Some very subtle discoloration and a few pinholes at the shoulder where an old alteration was removed, but all of this is entirely covered when worn by the lace flounce. Otherwise just one pinhole at the hem and a smattering of incredibly subtle marks in the skirt that get entirely lost in the drape, including two very subtle reddish marks (probably 100 year old lipstick) right on the hem. These marks could easily be hemmed off if desired, but truly they are only visible upon very close inspection and it is not necessary. Gown presents as mint condition when worn.
