Incredibly beautiful 1930s primary floral gown made from a special cotton voile with varying levels of transparency in the pattern. This piece is just stunning, and particularly notable for its unique art deco detailing. The body and skirt of the gown are made of long, voluminous gores of fabric that create elongating vertical lines down the body and an extremely full skirt. The bodice is heavily gathered across the bust, and most spectacularly perhaps, the large puffed sleeves are created as a "cage" of fabric by leaving finished gaps in the seams. This detail is so unique- I have never seen it before! The effect is marvelous, and decidedly sculptural, with a touch of novelty flair. The gown closes at one side with hidden snaps, and goes on over the head with ease.

Remarkable pristine condition! Appears lightly (if ever) worn.
