Remarkable 1920s hand embroidered piano shawl in a special and rare bright tangerine shade. The monochrome of this piece creates a wonderful texture from afar, and a delight for the senses up close in the form of highly skilled stitching. The embroidery is done in an interesting pattern with a large cross in the center outlined by the floral motifs. Long and delicate hand knitted fringe goes around the entire perimeter of the extra large shawl. An incredible piece of wearable art; these shawls are commonly referred to as Canton shawls or Manton de Manila, depending on the style of embroidery. 

Excellent condition with some light marks towards the center of the shawl, and a handful around the edge. Presents as mint when worn.
