Absolutely incredible 1920s pale yellow ivory silk devoré velvet trained cocoon robe This piece is exquisite, and clearly heavily inspired by the revolutionary designs of Paul Poiret in the late 1910s and early 1920s. Simple but exquisite styling that creates sultry drape around the waist and hip, with a dramatic train that comes to a point trailing behind as one walks. Completed with a perfect silk ribbonwork flower appliqué at the bodice. Truly remarkable, and a fantastic example of transitional early 20th century fashion.

Excellent restored condition. One tiny (less than 1/4") worm spot has been repaired in the train and it is impossible no notice without close inspection. A few scattered subtle marks that get entirely lost in the drape of the fabric. Small yellowish mark at the nape of the neck, looks like a dye error. Barely visible from the exterior. Presents beautifully.
