1900s English Seafoam Silk Watteau Dressing Gown [xs/sm/med]

$2,641.00

Unbelievably rare and special seafoam fantasy silk dressing gown made around the turn of the 20th century. This gown is an absolute masterpiece. Made from the airiest candlelight satin that reflect light like no other fabric, gathered, pleated, and otherwise perfectly tailored into the most romantic of garments. The gown is heavily trimmed with layers and layers of French valenciennes lace, with matching silk ribbons to tie at the waistline, and finished with a perfect training watteau back, reminicent of 18th century court styles. To top it off, the gown is fully lined with a super soft cotton muslin, and has an incredible original silk label which reads "William Owen Westbourne Grove", made in England.

Excellent condition. There are a few minor marks that are hardly noticeable, some subtle wear to the nape of the neck, and one very small area at the side of the neckline where the fabric has been carefully reinforced. Presents as mint and is strong and wearable. A rare survivor.
