1930s Pink + Black Dressing Gown with Silk Ribbonwork Florals [xs/sm]
$3,039.00
Unbelievably special 1930s silk crepe back satin dressing gown with the most exquisite details. An incredible graphic effect is created by the unique organic color blocking of the black against the soft pink. Beautifully styled with voluminous bell sleeves, a super wide skirt, and light shoulder pads that give a femme fatale edge to the design. The best detail is of course the absolutely remarkable handmade pastel silk ribbonwork appliqués at the front waist and shoulders- some of the most beautiful work of this period i have ever seen. Almost surely a custom piece- I have never seen anything like this before and I am sure I never will again.
Overall excellent condition with some minor cosmetic notes. One very small (about 1/4") hole on the shoulder has been professionally repaired in house and is now only noticeable upon close inspection. There is some subtle scuffing to the satin finish throughout, the worst area is at the back hip, that gets totally lost in the drape when worn. Perhaps a subtle mark or two otherwise, but really this incredible garment is in magnificent condition and these minor notes are not at all noticeable when worn. The ribbonwork is in exquisite condition.
