Remarkable c1900 jacket entirely handmade of many hundreds of hours of Irish crochet work. One of the most beautiful and masterful examples of Irish crochet I have ever seen; every single element in the pattern is the very best version of itself. The large flowers have multiple layers of petals, each individually crafted with lace stitches and sewn together. Flower centers are padded from behind with cotton to create three dimensional domes that read just like their real life counterparts. The large leaf motifs are similarly expertly made with individual petals crafted separately then assembled into each tiny masterpiece. Even the fill areas are beautifully rendered in a net pattern akin to honeycomb. The draping angel sleeves are finished with delicate dangling baubles that swing softly with movement. While with exquisite jacket was very likely originally custom made as part of a bridal ensemble, it lends itself perfectly to dressing up and down in the 21st century. Wear it with a favorite slip dress or gown, or with a tank top and your daily driver jeans. An exquisite heirloom to be cherished for generations.
