Edwardian Geometric Hand Embroidered Skirt [med/lrg]
$677.00
Incredible early 1900s Edwardian cotton mesh skirt embroidered entirely by hand to create an unusual geometric lattice design. Made with a unique embroidery style of weaving white cotton threads in and out of the natural holes in the mesh, a technique usually seen on shawls and wraps but very rarely on garments. It is extremely precise work, especially with such a geometric motif, as the optical illusion repetition of the pattern makes any small deviations immediately noticeable. Whoever crafted this incredible textile was both unbelievably talented and patient as well. So beautiful, so easy to wear- dress it up or down, the options are endless.
Excellent condition. The waistband has been professionally replaced in house using antique cotton and closures.
