1930s Pastel Floral Lace Appliqué Bias Gown
£948.00
Exquisite 1930s silk bias gown with incredibly rare rainbow floral lace in a riot of pastel colors. The body of the gown is made from a gorgeous monochrome silk jacquard but a microprint resembling little bubbled. The magic is of course in the lacework, appliquéd by hand throughout the bodice and skirt with organic edges, tracing the details of the lace motifs, and accentuated with a tasteful smattering of embroidered details. Has an unusual asymmetrical v back, with beautifully finished scalloped edges. These piece is unbelievably beautifully made, sewn entirely by hand (even the side seams!), the ultimate in luxury craftsmanship.
Excellent condition, some scattered repairs to the lace that are entirely invisible. Two tiny holes have been hidden with matching period correct lace appliqué.
