Beyond rare 1920s cape handmade from the most incredible gold lamé French Alençon lace, carefully tailored into this sparkling masterpiece. This cape is a stroke of genius: it is crafted from a single piece of fabric, folded over to create the second tier, and then precisely shaped at the neckline with a series of pleats and darts. The effect is incredible. Because of the folding of the material, both the "back" and the "front" of the lace is utilized, giving a sense of depth to the tiers as the different sides reflect light slightly differently. A rare survivor in near mint condition, and an extremely special example of early 20th century artistry. Pairs perfectly with a bridal ensemble, or just about anytime you're looking for a little extra sparkle.

Excellent condition. A few spots of minor tarnish, presents beautifully.
