Incredibly beautiful 1970s Halston couture silk chiffon dress with stunning rays of iridescent sequins cascading down from the shoulders and circling the cuffs and hem. This piece exemplifies Halston's genius of elegance in simplicity- the base of the dress is  a simple but precisely tailored sheath that drapes effortless around the body, taken from ordinary to exquisite with the addition of voluminous bell sleeves and of course the unique hand embroidered embellishments. The sequins themselves have a noir iridescent finish not unlike that of butterfly wings, flashing shades of purple, blue, green and silver as they catch the light. Closes at the center back with a series of hidden hooks and eyes for easy on and off. Absolutely exquisite from start to finish, a true piece of fashion history that translates beautifully into a modern wardrobe, perfect for day to night wear. 

Unbelievable near pristine condition. We noted 2 missing sequins at the shoulder that are only noticeable upon extremely close inspection. Otherwise there are a few natural slubs in the silk- these are from the weaving process and are not flaws. Functionally mint condition.
