1970s Gina Fratini Insertion Lace Cotton Dress

Gorgeous 1970s cotton dress by the famous British designer Gina Fratini, who would later go on to be one of the favorite dressmakers of Princess Diana. A piece of her early work, this gorgeous summer dress echoes the interest in Edwardian/Victorian fashion that was rampant in the 60s and 70s. Made from a lightweight cotton lawn material and French lace (likely produced on the same machines used in the 20s and 30s in lace hubs throughout Europe), the materiality and style speak beautifully to the historic inspirations, while elevating the details and silhouette to reflect modern sensibilities.
