Gorgeous 1950s soft pink cashmere cardigan made in the style of Helen Bond Carruthers pieces. Carruthers was famous for adorning cashmere cardigans with antique textiles, most notably embroidered elements from 1920s piano shawls, as is the case with this sweater. This piece is not an authentic Carruthers, but made with the same quality of materials and construction- it is beautifully made and the bodice is lined in silk. A wonderful addition to any spring/summer wardrobe with so may great style opportunities.
Overall good condition with obvious cosmetic flaws. There is light color bleed throughout from the embroideries- most notably on the bodice near the red flowers. There is some wear to the embroidery as well, mostly on the back shoulder as shown. Some light wear to the cuffs. Overall the cardigan is structurally very stable, but has cosmetic issues and is not for a wearer who desired pieces in pristine shape. Still presents beautifully! Has been priced according to condition and rarity.
