Remarkable 1930s Ivory silk satin bias cut slip dress with the most spectacular handworked details. The neckline and bodice are covered in gorgeous embroidery including openwork that creates a wonderful semi-sheer textural effect. The straps are absolutely marvelous, made from 4 braided strands of handmade silk chord. The front waistband has short, vertical pin tucks that give a lovely definition to the waist when the ties are fastened at the back. So elegant, and extremely flattering, with a perfectly simple color palette that makes this piece wonderful to accessorize. Note: This piece would have originally been made and marketed as a negligée, but beautifully translates as evening attire for modern wear.

Overall excellent condition. At the front of the gown at about hip level there is one  tiny thinned spot in the silk that is so small it is almost impossible to see (pictured). There are also some very subtle scattered small marks in the skirt. Presents beautifully and is very strong and wearable.
