1930s Black Fish-Scale Silk Lace Gown [sm/med]

Sold Out

Remarkable 1930s black silk lace gown with a pattern that beautifully emulates fish scales. This piece has beautiful deco styling with a gathered bodice, and waistline that sits at the natural waist. The skirt is long and full, and cut on the bias for maximum curve hugging drape. The neckline is adorned with a lace collar of prong set clear and multicolor rhinestones, and an original dress clip that came attached to the dress, but can easily be removed if desired. Comes with a matching belt with an incredible quality prong set rhinestone buckle. Closes at one side with hidden hooks and eyes for easy entry without putting stress on the lace. The bodice section is lined with a light mesh for extra support.

Overall excellent condition. Some small holes in the skirt have been carefully repaired and get completely lost in the drape. The arms appear to have been restyled at some point as the finishing around the armholes is a bit rougher than the rest of the gown, but this does not show when worn. Presents as mint. This piece should be worn with care due to the delicate nature of lace, but is very strong and ready for its next life.

Note: A good around of flexibility due to stretch and gathering in the bodice. Measurements taken at rest - max comfortable stretch. Wears beautifully belted on smaller as well.
