Description

Exquisite 1920s Art Deco floral patterned veil. Unique soutache and tambour embroidered detailing carefully applied to a soft 100% cotton bobbinet mesh and finished with a gorgeous scalloped edge. The veil is a large, long oval shape that drapes beautifully over the head and pools at the at the foot of the wearer. The appliqués are arranged in a large cascade of floral and geometric patterns that decend from the head and down the back, for a stunningly dramatic effect. We recommend attaching the comb to the top edge of the motif to maximize this look, but the top of the motif can be placed at different heights along the head (shown here a few different ways) to create the desired length and effect. A rare survivor, and exceptionally unusual in its design, this veil is sure to make for an unforgettable bridal ensemble.

Excellent condition. We repaired one tiny pinprick along the top, likely where the comb was originally attached. At Demetra, each garment is thoroughly cleaned, inspected for damage and professionally repaired with nearly a decade of experience in tailoring and working with antique materials. Each garment will arrive clean and ready to wear will little to no signs of age.
