1970s Halston for Formfit Rogers Goddess Gown [med/lrg]

£603.00

A classic in a rarely seen color! One of Halston's most successful designs in his career, this one shoulder goddess gown was manufactured in collaboration with Formfit Rogers in 1979-1980. In fact, it was so commercially successful that the design was brought back in the 1980s under the Halston IV diffusion line. Minimalism at its finest, this gown is made from a delicate nylon jersey that maximizes the Grecian elements of the design, culminating in a dramatic gathered drape descending in the front and back from the high shoulder point. Underneath the sweeping drape, the body is loosely wrapped in a simple column of material for modesty and ease of movement. The sultry simplicity is completed with a high side slit. The very best of Studio 54 elegance, beautifully translated into a comfortable, breathable and stylish dress that you will never want to take off.

The last slide shows the original 1970s magazine ad for the dress in white.

Excellent condition. On the back in the lower skirt there are two small (less than 1/4") subtle slightly greenish marks and one pinhole in the back shoulder drape, all of which gets totally lost in the sheen. Presents beautifully.
