Utterly incredible 1930s silk charmeuse bias cut gown with massive voluminous balloon sleeves make from light as air crinkle silk chiffon. Sourced in Italy, this piece is hands down one of the most beautiful lingerie gowns we have ever had in the shop- from the details to material choices, design and make, this gown is truly a work of sartorial art. The sleeves are made from many yards of tightly gathered silk, resulting in extreme dramatic fullness, and a draping bubble effect at the cuffs. The neckline is detailed with hand worked floral appliqués, a mixture of silk chiffon backing and contrasting silk embroidery threads for a rich outline. The body of the gown is cut on the bias for a perfect body skimming silhouette and drapes like water on the body. This gown is made to the very highest standards of couture craftsmanship, entirely hand sewn even down to the side seams. This special, special piece is very likely one of a kind, and an absolute must have for the serious collector of Old Hollywood era lingerie.

Excellent condition. There are a couple incredibly subtle tiny pin dot marks at the front and a couple small subtle marks at the hem, all of which is entirely unnoticeable on the body. Presents as mint.
