c1900 French Brass Oak Leaf Acorn Crown
£682.00
Remarkable early 20th century brass French crown made from an assemblage of carefully articulated repoussé and cast elements. The arms of the crown are ensconced in brass oak leaves carefully arranged on a central wire to form a laurel effect. Tiny cast acorns are wired dangling around the leaves, and sway slightly with movement. Both the leaves and acorns are both brass, but the acorns appear to have a slightly higher copper content, giving them a slightly darker brown hue and creating a stunningly realistic contrast between the two elements. An incredibly romantic artifact, and a wonderfully unique bridal option.
Excellent condition. Some minor expected wear and gorgeous age patina. Presents beautifully. Please note the small "hooks" at either end to help keep the crown in the hair when worn.
