Fantastic 1940s blush rayon side zip trousers with a wonderful history. On first glance, these pants appear to be like any other women's pants from the 1940s, but upon further inspection it is clear that these trousers were once mens, and were restyled in the 40s to fit a women's body. At the crotch, old stitch lines are visible where a front zipper crotch was removed, as it would have been on a mens trouser. The result of the restyle is fabulous, with large functional seam pockets, robust belt loops, and a wide leg. The pockets at the back are also fabulous with button detailing. So so cool to find a piece like this with its history imbedded into it!

Excellent condition. Some old stitch lines at the front and back where alterations were made, but they just give the trousers a wonderful folk art charm. Otherwise just some minor marks expected on pieces of this age and a light area of discoloration around the knee. Presents beautifully.
