Dramatic 1930s Art Deco inky black silk velvet gown. This piece has it all- voluminous balloon sleeves, hand worked beaded details, self covered buttons all the way down the front and a slinky train in the back. Beautifully made with hand finished details throughout, this was very likely a custom made garment. The luxurious silk velvet is of the highest quality and is incredibly soft to the touch. The handmade self covered buttons are fully functional and go all the way down the length of the gown, allowing the length of the front slit to be fully adjustable- or fasten it fully to the hem for more coverage. An absolutely incredible example of Old Hollywood glam, in a version Morticia could only dream of wearing.

Excellent restored condition. An L shaped tear at the back hem (probably from a caught heel) has been invisibly repaired in house. A small hole at the back skirt has also been invisibly repaired and gets entirely lost in the drape. Otherwise just a few pinholes as the back hem. Presents as mint.
