Unique 1930s silk and lace robe with beautifully hand applied lace appliqués throughout. This robe is quite interesting in that it represents the transitory time between styles in lingerie from the 1920s to 1930s. The dramatic balloon sleeves and luxurious appliqués are classic 1930s mainstays in the most fabulous of Old Hollywood robes, but the low neckline pointed collar, double face silk ribbon drawstring and sweet patch pocket at hip level are much more commonly seen on pieces from the 1920s. While extremely unusual, the melding of these two eras is seamless, creating the ideal mix of sultry and sweet. Truly magnificent- this robe would make for luxurious afternoon lounging, or as a perfectly unique duster jacket in the warmer months.
