Remarkable Midcentury handmade convertible pendant and brooch rendered in sterling silver with marcasites and garnets. A remarkable example of craftsmanship and ingenuity, this piece is actually 3 pieces interlocking with a serious of loops and hooks, allowing the piece to be worn in a wide variety of ways as both a pendant and brooch. The three pieces are as follows: The largest central piece with two flowers, a long thin vine extension with articulated links, and a marcasite encrusted bail that can be hooked on either (or both) of the other two pieces to become a pendant. This exquisite article is marked with a maker's hallmark indicating an artisan handmade piece. A rare treasure and so wonderfully versatile!
