1920s Art Deco Silver Lamé Jacket [sm/med/lrg]
$1,267.00
Remarkable 1920s jacket handmade entirely from silver tone lamé lace, woven from real metal and silk fibers in an incredible architectural art deco design featuring scalloped chevrons and floral patterns. The piece is very unusual for its time, and clearly made by a highly talented seamstress exploring the possibilities offered by such a remarkable textile. The simple, yet highly elegant, silhouette allows the lace to shine (literally!), while giving the garment beautiful drape and movement as you walk. The sleeves are intentionally made extra long, so that when worn, the cuffs have a textural ruched effect, complimenting the smooth drape of the body. The jacket has no front closures intended to be worn open, and fastens only at the wrists with carefully crafted hand covered buttons. An heirloom worthy piece that will instantly elevate any evening ensemble.
Excellent condition. One small tarnish spot on right bodice and minor tarnish at the nape of the neck. A couple small, invisible repairs to the lace. Presents beautifully.
