1930s Watercolor Silk Lamé Angel Sleeve Jacket [xs/sm/med]
$2,061.00
Absolutely incredible 1930s NRA labelled (dating it precisely to between 1933-1935) vivid watercolor floral silk and silver lamé jacket. Uniquely styled with wide split angel sleeves that drape gracefully with movement, and closing at the front with handmade frog closures clearly inspired by Chinese techniques. Has two fully functional patch pockets at the front towards the hem, and is partially lined in a rich royal blue silk charmeuse that peeks out of the split sleeves when worn. Everything about this piece is remarkable, from the out of this world lamé material to the masterful craftsmanship and attention to detail. This jacket was probably originally part of a full lounge ensemble, with a matching pair of side leg trousers (presumably in the same blue silk) as well as a matching belt (belt loops are present, but unfortunately the belt has been lost to time). Labelled "Bogen Maid Silk Undergarments". One of the most exquisite and unusual lamé pieces we have ever had in the shop.
Pristine deadstock condition with original paper tag still attached. Appears never worn.
