1930s Ivory Silk Embroidered Bridal Gown
Exquisite 1930s ivory silk gown with the most incredible detailing throughout. This piece is truly exceptional in every sense of the word, displaying the very best of craftsmanship, design and material choice available in the early 20th century. The details are unusual with silk ties at the neckline and waist that weave in and out of finished openings in the dress. The bodice is cut in a stunning wide shoulder style that has a soft structural effect when worn, perfectly balanced with the incredible embroideries over the sheer cotton mesh. The body of the gown is made from silk jacquard, printed with sweet vines and foliage. This remarkable example is entirely hand made, even down to the seams, and was almost certainly a custom made garment. It would make for an unbelievably special and unique bridal ensemble.
Excellent condition. One small hole in the mesh has been carefully repaired with a little piece of matching antique lace, blending in entirely with the pattern. At Demetra, each garment is thoroughly cleaned, inspected for damage and professionally repaired with nearly a decade of experience in tailoring and working with antique materials. Each garment will arrive clean and ready to wear will little to no signs of age.
