Incredibly gorgeous 1930s black silk lace gown. This gown has it all; sultry deco lines, a voluminous trumpet hem, unique collar detailing, and a stunning heart and flower motif woven into the lace. The lace is made from the softest silk with a slight sheen, that is surprisingly strong and has lot of natural elasticity in the weave, which helps the material cling to your curves perfectly. This piece came from a museum deaccession, and the quality shows it: this is hands down the most beautifully constructed 1930s lace gown I have ever seen. Any closures you ask? Yes! Along one of the seams on the back created by the draping of the lace, a series of snaps have been sewn in by hand, completely and utterly invisible when fastened. This makes the dress incredibly easy to get on and off, protecting the delicate lace from any extra strain. The level of craftsmanship and design shown here is just out of this world! This incredible gown perfectly embodies 1930s deco glamour, but perfectly translates for modern wear in every aspect.
