Incredibly special 1920s silk printed butterfly kimono from Atlantic City, New Jersey, an active boardwalk tourist town in the early 20th century. This piece was likely sold as a souvenir piece. Made from luscious silk with exquisitely printed butterflied at the hem and finished with a black silk trim. Very open caftan cut robe that is flattering on all bodies. Closes with a single snap at the front.

Overall very good condition with some notable cosmetic flaws. Some scattered pinholes/pulls/minor marks that do not detract. Along the hem there are some small eraser sized holes that blend in as they are mostly amongst the heavily pattered areas of silk and get lost in the drape. At the side hem there is a 1 inch hole in the silk, it looks like the silk caught on something at some point in time. Despite cosmetic flaws this piece is very strong and wearable with care and flaws do not detract due to the heavily draped nature of this piece.
