Unbelievably rare and beautiful 1920s gold lamé cape with floral embroidery and long silk fringe. This piece is just an absolutely magical example of 1920s glamour. The cape is made from a large field of floral silk and metal lamé gathered at the neck into a cape with long ties at the neck, finished with silk fringe. The embroidery is done with vividly colored silk threads in three large blooms at the back. Completely one of a kind- you will never see another.

Overall excellent condition. There is so very subtle tarnish at the neckline, basically indistinguishable. At the back of the cape, there are a few areas of patch and careful stitch repair where some of the metal threads has become threadbare. The areas are small, and the repairs are expertly done to the point that they are nearly impossible to see when the cape is worn. The silk patched can be seen on the inside of the cape, but as it is at the back, this is not visible when worn. Overall the cape is in stunningly marvelous condition and extremely strong and wearable. Please see photos for images of the repairs.
