1910s Black Silk Sequin Witchy Gown [xs/sm]
$603.00
Rare and unusual 1910s to early 1920s black silk witchy gown. The details on this gem are just remarkable. The bodice is covered with early black gelatin sequins that give a gorgeous shining effect when they catch the light. The white trim is carefully embroidered with bullion threads. The body of the gown is layered with a large collar ending in dangling sequin pinecone tassels, and there are long "wings" coming down on either side of the skirt, with beautiful soutache detailing throughout. This piece has an elaborate closure system at the bodice and waist, with an inner cotton bodice that does not show when worn. Beautifully made.
Excellent near pristine condition. There is s small area at the side of the bodice where there are some missing sequins, but it does not show when worn as it is covered by the black silk at the sides. Presents as mint.
