1900s Pintucked Embroidered Lawn Gown [xs/sm]
$1,522.00
Stunning c1900 Edwardian cotton lawn dress resplendent with incredible detail work. The front of the gown of created with panels of carefully pin tucked material set into miles of insertion lace and framed with exquisite floral embroideries done entirely by hand. Uniquely styled with a slightly bubbled waist for a gorgeous draped effect, mimicked at the back with an ever so slight bustle created by the diagonal pin tucked layers, leading into a graceful train. Closes at the center back with a series of carved mother of pearl buttons. An absolutely incredible example, and a feast for the eyes in the form of texture and embellishment.
Excellent condition. A small 3/4 inch reinforced spot at the back waist towards the closure placket, and a few tiny repairs and pindot marks in the lower skirt that get entirely lost in the drape. One small hole in the fullness of the front skirt has been covered with an antique lace flower and there is a very small reinforced spot on the underside of one sleeve. Presents as mint when worn.
