Unreal Edwardian does 1860s tambour embroidered lace shawl, embellished entirely by hand. Where to begin with this treasure! The entire surface (which is an incredibly extra large size) is covered in stunning art nouveau floral motifs symmetrically arranged and finished with a carefully scalloped edge. The shawl is shaped somewhat like a pointed boomerang, with long pointed sections at the front that can be worn loose or wrapped around the waist, and a large triangle that hangs down the back from the nape of the neck almost 4 ft. The large draping shape (inspired by 1860s paisley and Chantilly shawls) makes this piece incredibly versatile- the shawl could certainly be styled as a veil for a wedding if desired.

Excellent condition.
