Utterly remarkable circa 1900 robe made from gossamer Swiss dot cotton gauze and detailed with miles of valenciennes insertion lace. Wonderfully styled with a very full body, pleated and gathered at the back for incredible drape. The soft gauze material is light as air and floats around the body like a wearable cloud. The sleeves are absolutely amazing super wide cut angel sleeves that add the perfect amount of drama. Has a small train at the back for a touch of elegance, and a wide triangular fold over collar that closes with two hidden hook and eye closures at the neck, but also drapes beautifully worn open. A exquisite and ethereal treasure, perfect for a bridal getting ready outfit or as a soft feminine touch of everyday elegance.

Remarkable near pristine condition. A few tiny nearly imperceptible scattered marks, and one invisible seam repair at the back. At the back hem there is a small area where one side of the doubled over fabric is torn, but this does not show or effect wear (probably caused by a caught heel). Appears rarely if ever worn.
