An exceptional example of the work of Charles & Patricia Lester, a 1980s designer duo 1980s that created otherworldly couture garments. They specialized in working with their trademark pleating technique, heavily inspired by the work of Mariano Fortuny in the early 20th century but with a decidedly modern twist. This particular jacket is made from a stunning hand dyed silk in incredible jewel tones of deep pink and purple, accented with glittering black iris glass beads. It has shoulder pads, balloon sleeves and a wide fold over collar that is so lush with texture. The body of the garment stretches, folds and moves with you, the beauty of the tight pleating technique utilized. An exquisite one of a kind piece of art to wear.

Excellent condition. The label is missing.
