Demetra's Emerald Silk Devore Lace Appliqué Dress
$1,752.00
Incredibly special 1930s emerald silk devore velvet angel sleeve gown that has been painstakingly restored by Demetra. When found, the hem was raw, and there were brown stains and holes across the shoulder and sleeves. After being carefully cleaned by hand, the gown was transformed in our studio with countless hand applied appliqués using authentic 1930s lingerie laces from our extensive materials library. The result is an exquisite cascade of delicate lace florals trailing across the shoulder, down the sleeves and around the hemline, supremely feminine with an exquisite moody contrast of colors. Truly one of a kind- the quintessential holiday dress!
This one of a kind garment is a Demetra Revival restoration: a rare but wounded treasure given new life in the Demetra studio using professional tailoring skills, heirloom techniques, and historically accurate materials. It bears a Demetra label, carefully sewn into the interior. This garment is now in excellent to pristine condition, with little to no evidence of wear.
