Incredibly special 1930s crinkle silk chiffon gown with hand applied lace detailing through the bodice. This gown is so beautifully made, entirely hand sewn even down to the seams. Bears a silk label reading "Handmade in France for Saks Fifth Avenue". Very unusual styling for the era with an empire waist with an attached silk drawstring that ties down for a perfect and extremely flattering fit. Perfectly light an airy with a voluminous billowing skirt. I can't help but think how beautiful this gown would look styled over a blouse with huge balloon sleeves! So fabulous, and a rare example of early lingerie that is perfect for modern wear.

Excellent condition. Appears little if ever worn.
