Absolutely unreal 1930s dusty pink gown made from a masterful patchwork of embroidered and pin tucked cotton mesh and Irish crochet trims. This gown is extremely unusual- the silhouette reads immediately at quintessentially 1930s, with the curve hugging fit and deep plunging back- but the materiality (the embroidery techniques and use of Irish crochet) is distinctly reminiscent of 1910s and 1920s designs. It seems very likely that this gown was made using materials that were vintage at the time of its construction, and is almost certainly a custom piece, incredibly carefully crafted and complete with hand finished details throughout. The cotton mesh has a slight comfortable stretch to it that allows the garment to easily mold to wearers body. Beautifully styled bodice with an extremely deep plunging back balanced with a soft scooped cowl neck. Closes at the side with hidden hook and handmade thread bars for easy on and off. Truly an heirloom worthy one of a kind garment, and would make for an unforgettable wedding dress. 

Excellent restored condition. When found there were many scattered small holes in the mesh of the skirt all of which have been carefully hidden with antique hand embroidered floral appliqués, organically worked into the design. Gown now presents as perfect with just two tiny pinholes in the mesh of the bodice.

Note: When shooting this piece with our model we discovered there was some extra volume in the bust area that fit rather strangely. We decided to move forward with adding bust darts on both sides- this does not affect the look of the dress but simply improves the fit in the bodice. We have made the alteration in such a way that it can be very easily reversed if desired. If you would like to see pictures of the darts, please contact us.
