1930s Black Silk + Lace Angel Sleeve Robe [xs/sm/med]
$1,598.00
Absolutely unreal 1930s inky black silk satin angel sleeve robe with huge draping angel sleeves in an ecru tambour lace. Exquisitely styled with large lace panels down either side of the robe, appliquéd carefully along the curve of the floral patterned lace for a fluid, yet dramatically graphic effect. Very much a garment for the femme fatale, with a dark romantic aura. The body of the robe is very loosely cut to maximize sultry drape when worn, closing with a cross over deep v neckline, and fastening on the inside with a hook and eye and a hidden snap on the exterior. Wears beautifully as a dress or gown, or even as a duster worn open. One of the very best boudoir robes that has ever passed through the shop, this is a must have for the serious collector and will only continue to increase in value with time. Labelled "Lady Duff", a prominent high end luxury brand in the early 20th century famous for their spectacular lingerie and loungewear.
Excellent condition. There is a tiny less that 1/4" repair in the silk at the nape of the neck, and some subtle repairs/reinforcements in the lace at the shoulders, all of which is almost entirely invisible when worn. The lace of the sleeves is ever so slightly warmer in color than the side inserts, and there is some very, very subtle discoloration on one of the side panels- these subtleties are only visible upon extremely close inspection and are noted here only for the sake of precision. Presents as mint condition when worn.
