1920s Silk Satin Flutter Sleeve Gown [xs/sm/med]
$628.00
Absolutely gorgeous 1920s silk satin gown with the most incredible inset lace and detailing. Uniquely styled and exquisitely constructed, this gown was very likely a custom piece. The silhouette is rather unusual, flaring out towards to the hem with wide, winglike side panels that drape beautifully and add incredible movement. The French alençon lace is incredibly detailed, and interestingly appears to have been engineered to be used just so- all of the lace in the entire garment is in one piece, continuous without seaming, with all of the silk panels cut and sewn into the natural openings in the design of the lace. Finished with flutter sleeves that add a sweet whimsey to this gorgeous dress. So comfortable and easy to wear, this is a great option for dressing up or down.
Excellent restored condition. When found, this piece had scattered small tears to the lace all of which have been repaired professionally and are now entirely invisible. We also repaired a small hole (about 1/2 inch) at the back of the sleeve towards the underarm, and reinforced one tiny pinhole at the front waist; both repairs are very strong and go entirely unnoticed when worn. Otherwise there are a few incredibly subtle marks in the lower skirt and perhaps a pinhole or two, but overall in excellent ready to wear condition and presents beautifully when worn.
